The money was raised from a dunk tank that Northwoods Auto Group had at the Perry County Fair in August. | Marines from Lewis B Puller Jr. Marine Corps League Det. 524 of Carlisle Pa. recently helped a fellow Marine out by helping to clean up after a fire destroyed his barn. Pictured from left to right are Eric Fussenegger, Jim Clouse, Ray Tennyson ( Marine who lost his barn), Bill Chaney, Dick Grove and Bob Gilbert. Six old Marine warhorses, one Husqvarna chainsaw and one Jeep Wrangler brought the barn down in 6 hours. Ooo-Rahh! |
| JR Wells (on Left) was awarded the Legion of Honor Award from The Chapel of the Four Chaplains by Commandant Bob Gilbert for his service to all people regardless of race or faith. This award was presented at the August 15, 2007 Lewis B Puller Jr. Marine Corps League meeting. |

On May 19th and 26th, in a joint effort with the Am-Vets Post 274 and VFW Post 477 members of the Detachment, helped honor local Veterans by placing American Flags on the graves at the Union and Westminster Cemetery. |

The Marine Toys for Tots foundation held its annual Toys for Tots
coordinators conference from 14-17 September 2007 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark
Center In Alexandria, Va. This year is the 60th year for Toys for Tots. Over 400 Coordinators from all over the US (to include 26 from Pa) attended this years event. | Commandant Bob Gilbert (L.) congratulates Marine J.R. Wells on his being recognized by the Chambersburg American Legion. The plaque recognizes J. R.'s support of the Community with his Food Pantry and as the Toys for Tots Local Coordinator | On March 31, 2007 Marine Mike Turney (MGySgt, USMC-Ret.) passed away due to terminal cancer of the brain. On Friday, April 7, Commandant Bob Gilbert and Marine Bill Meyers accept a donation in lieu of flowers from his daughters place of employment: Delta Dental. Mike's wish was fulfilled by us accepting this generous donation. He served proudly served 20 years for his country. He was interned at St Louis MO. | Commandant Robert Gilbert presents to Heidi Gilbert (R.) teacher at Big Springs Middle School and Brielle Kutz student at the middle school, a certificate of appreciation for students writing 156 Valentine Day's card for service men at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Iraq. |
